Description

These S’mores Bars are a gooey, delicious, and easy-to-make treat that’s perfect for satisfying your s’mores cravings any time of year. A buttery graham cracker base is layered with melted marshmallows and chocolate chips, then topped with a crunchy cereal and marshmallow mixture for a delightful textural experience.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 box (11.7 ounces) Golden Grahams cereal, divided
  • 2 bags (10 ounces each) miniature marshmallows, divided
  • 2 cups (364g) milk chocolate chips, divided
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line a 9×13 inch baking dish with parchment paper, with overhang on the sides for easy removal. Spray the parchment paper with baking spray.
  2. Make Topping: In a small bowl, combine ¾ cup Golden Grahams cereal, ¾ cup miniature marshmallows, and ¾ cup chocolate chips. Set aside.
  3. Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Add 8 cups of miniature marshmallows and stir constantly until melted and smooth (about 3-4 minutes). Remove from heat.
  4. Combine with Cereal: Immediately stir in the remaining Golden Grahams cereal, ensuring it’s fully coated in the marshmallow mixture.
  5. Add Chocolate: Gently fold in the remaining chocolate chips and miniature marshmallows. Avoid overmixing to prevent the chocolate from melting completely.
  6. Assemble Bars: Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the reserved cereal, marshmallow, and chocolate chip mixture over the top, pressing gently to help it adhere.
  7. Cool and Serve: Let the bars cool completely in the pan for 1-2 hours. Once set, lift them out using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into bars and serve.

Notes

  • You can use any type of graham cracker cereal for this recipe.
  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips or a combination of milk chocolate and dark chocolate chips.
  • If you prefer a gooier texture, use slightly fewer graham crackers.
  • These bars can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
