For the Chicken Wings
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 3 tablespoons potato starch
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- Oil spray
For the Honey Lemon Pepper Sauce
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 1/4 cup lemon juice (or more, to taste)
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1–2 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Prepare Chicken: Preheat oven to 450°F. Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a bowl, toss wings with potato starch, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
- Bake Wings: Lightly spray a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Arrange wings in a single layer on the baking sheet and spray with oil. Reduce oven temperature to 425°F and bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping and spraying with oil halfway through, until crispy and cooked through.
- Make Sauce: While wings bake, combine honey, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, butter, salt, and pepper in a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until well combined.
- Toss and Serve: Transfer baked wings to a bowl and toss with the honey lemon pepper sauce. Serve immediately, reserving some sauce for dipping, if desired.
Notes
- For extra crispy wings, broil for the last 1-2 minutes of cooking time.
- Adjust the amount of lemon juice and black pepper to your liking.
- If you don’t have potato starch, you can substitute cornstarch or all-purpose flour.
- These wings are delicious served with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ranch or blue cheese dressing.
