Description

These Honey Lemon Pepper Wings are sweet, savory, and irresistible! Baked to crispy perfection and tossed in a homemade honey-lemon pepper sauce, they’re a perfect appetizer or game-day snack.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Chicken Wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 3 tablespoons potato starch
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • Oil spray

For the Honey Lemon Pepper Sauce

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice (or more, to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 12 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken: Preheat oven to 450°F. Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a bowl, toss wings with potato starch, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
  2. Bake Wings: Lightly spray a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Arrange wings in a single layer on the baking sheet and spray with oil. Reduce oven temperature to 425°F and bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping and spraying with oil halfway through, until crispy and cooked through.
  3. Make Sauce: While wings bake, combine honey, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, butter, salt, and pepper in a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until well combined.
  4. Toss and Serve: Transfer baked wings to a bowl and toss with the honey lemon pepper sauce. Serve immediately, reserving some sauce for dipping, if desired.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, broil for the last 1-2 minutes of cooking time.
  • Adjust the amount of lemon juice and black pepper to your liking.
  • If you don’t have potato starch, you can substitute cornstarch or all-purpose flour.
  • These wings are delicious served with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ranch or blue cheese dressing.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
