Description

This Honey Lemon Chicken is a simple yet incredibly flavorful dish that’s perfect for a quick and satisfying weeknight meal. Tender chicken cutlets are pan-fried until golden brown and then coated in a luscious honey lemon sauce.

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • All-purpose flour, for dredging
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  • Prepare Chicken: Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create thinner cutlets. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Dredge in flour, shaking off any excess.
  • Cook Chicken: Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken cutlets and cook until golden brown and cooked through (about 4-5 minutes per side). Remove chicken and set aside.
  • Make Sauce: Remove the skillet from heat and add chicken broth, lemon juice, honey, and remaining butter. Stir to combine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  • Return Chicken and Simmer: Return chicken to the skillet and simmer over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes, or until the sauce has reduced and thickened slightly. Spoon the sauce over the chicken and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Chicken Size: If using smaller chicken breasts, you can skip cutting them in half lengthwise. Adjust cooking time as needed.
