Sauce/Pasta
- 4 tablespoons butter, divided
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 3/4 cups chicken broth
- 3/4 cup half and half
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 chicken bouillon cube
- 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 lb. Shellbow pasta (see notes)
Instructions
- Combine the seasonings: Mix the dried basil, oregano, parsley, mustard powder, thyme, onion powder, and pepper in a bowl and set aside.
- Cook the garlic: In a soup pot over medium heat, melt 3 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and the mixed seasonings. Stir until the butter foams.
- Prepare the sauce: Add chicken broth, half and half, soy sauce, and bouillon cube. Bring to a boil, then add the pasta. Cook uncovered according to package instructions.
- Add Parmesan and lemon juice: Reduce heat, stir in Parmesan cheese, then remove from heat. Mix in lemon juice.
- Finish the dish: Add the remaining butter, cover the pot to let it melt, and stir gently into the pasta before serving.
Notes
- Ensure to continuously stir the pasta while cooking to prevent sticking.
- Shellbow pasta is recommended for this recipe due to its shape that holds the sauce well.
