Ingredients
Scale
Banana Bites
- 3 bananas
Chocolate Coating
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tsp coconut oil
- Sea salt, optional, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Melt the Chocolate: Add the semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil to a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds, then stir. Continue heating in 30-second intervals, stirring at each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth, approximately 1½ to 2 minutes total.
- Slice the Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into approximately ½ inch thick rounds to create perfect bite-sized pieces for dipping.
- Dip the Banana Slices: Using a fork, dip each banana slice into the melted chocolate, allowing the excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl, ensuring an even coating without too much chocolate.
- Arrange for Freezing: Place the chocolate-coated banana slices onto a baking tray lined with wax paper or parchment paper. Optionally, sprinkle each piece with a pinch of flaked sea salt to enhance the flavor contrast.
- Freeze: Transfer the tray to the freezer and allow the banana bites to freeze for at least 2 hours or until they are completely firm.
Notes
- Use ripe bananas that are mostly yellow but not overripe to ensure the best texture and sweetness.
- Store finished banana bites in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 months for optimal freshness.
