Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 chicken breasts (boneless and skinless, about 1 1/2 lbs)
Firecracker Sauce
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (chopped)
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup low sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar (packed)
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (such as Sriracha)
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
Optional Garnish
- 1 green onion (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven temperature to 450℉ to ensure a hot environment for baking the chicken quickly while locking in juices.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, chopped ginger, olive oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, hot sauce, and black pepper until all ingredients are well combined forming the firecracker sauce.
- Coat the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour half of the firecracker sauce over the chicken and use a brush or spoon to evenly coat all surfaces. Flip the chicken and repeat pouring and brushing the remaining sauce on the other side, ensuring the chicken is fully covered.
- Bake the Chicken: Transfer the uncovered baking dish to the preheated oven and bake for 18 to 25 minutes, depending on chicken thickness. The chicken is done when it is opaque throughout and registers an internal temperature between 165℉ and 170℉ using an instant-read thermometer.
- Rest and Serve: Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute. Garnish with chopped green onion and parsley if desired, then serve alongside your favorite side dishes.
Notes
- Make sure to use an instant-read thermometer to accurately check doneness and avoid overcooking chicken breasts.
- The baking time varies depending on the size and thickness of the chicken breasts.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes or hot sauce to control the heat level of the dish.
- Leftover chicken can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated gently to maintain moisture.
- Pair this dish with steamed rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad for a full meal.
