For the sushi:
- 1 recipe sushi rice
- 8 oz imitation crab sticks
- 3 Tbsp Japanese mayonnaise
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1/2 English cucumber
- 8 sheets toasted nori seaweed, cut in half
- Toasted sesame seeds
- Black sesame seeds
- 16 tempura fried shrimp
For toppings:
- Unagi sauce
- Spicy mayo
Instructions
- Make the sushi rice: Follow the sushi rice recipe and let it cool.
- Prepare the crab mixture: Chop imitation crab meat, mix with Japanese mayonnaise, and set aside.
- Prepare the sushi mat: Wrap bamboo sushi mat in plastic wrap.
- Assemble the roll: Place nori seaweed on the mat, spread rice, sprinkle sesame seeds, add crab mixture, cucumber, avocado, and shrimp. Roll tightly.
- Cut the roll: Slice the roll into equal pieces.
- Add toppings: Top with spicy mayo and unagi sauce, serve with soy sauce and wasabi.
