Description

This Crockpot Parmesan Garlic Chicken Pasta is a creamy, flavorful one-pot meal perfect for busy days. Tender chicken breasts slow-cooked in a rich parmesan garlic sauce with cream cheese are shredded and mixed with cooked pasta, creating a comforting and satisfying dish with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale

Sauce and Cheese

  • 12 ounces Parmesan garlic sauce
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Protein

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts

Pasta and Garnishes

  • 10 ounces dry pasta, cooked and drained
  • Parsley, for garnish
  • Red pepper flakes, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crockpot: Spray the inside of the crockpot with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking during cooking.
  2. Layer the chicken: Place the boneless skinless chicken breasts evenly in the bottom of the crockpot for even cooking.
  3. Add sauce: Pour the entire 12 ounces of Parmesan garlic sauce over the chicken, ensuring it is well coated.
  4. Add cheeses: Distribute the cream cheese pieces and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly on top of the chicken and sauce.
  5. Cook: Cover the crockpot with its lid and cook on low for 5-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  6. Shred chicken: Remove the chicken breasts and shred them using two forks, then return the shredded chicken to the crockpot and stir well to combine with the sauce.
  7. Prepare pasta: Cook the dry pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain well.
  8. Combine and garnish: Add the cooked pasta to the crockpot and stir gently to mix everything together. Garnish with fresh parsley and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes before serving.

Notes

  • Use any pasta shape you prefer; penne or rotini work well to hold the sauce.
  • For a lighter version, substitute cream cheese with low-fat cream cheese.
  • If you prefer more spice, add extra red pepper flakes.
  • The dish can be kept warm in the crockpot on the ‘warm’ setting for up to an hour.
  • Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for 3-4 days and reheat nicely on the stovetop or microwave.
