Main Ingredients:
- 16 ounces ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Vegetable Mix:
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or 2 cloves garlic, minced
Sauce and Cheese:
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 4 ounces beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 4 slices white American or provolone cheese
Serving:
- 4 rolls
Instructions
- Cook Ground Beef: Heat a sauté pan over medium heat. Brown ground beef seasoned with salt and pepper, then set aside.
- Sauté Vegetables: In the same pan, sauté onions and bell peppers until browned and onions are translucent.
- Combine Ingredients: Return beef to the pan, add garlic, worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Cook briefly.
- Thicken Sauce: Stir in cornstarch to thicken the sauce. Add water if needed.
- Add Cheese: Top with cheese slices and allow to melt.
- Assemble: Spoon the mixture onto rolls and serve hot.
