Description

A refreshing and nutritious smoothie bowl packed with antioxidant-rich berries and acai. This vibrant purple bowl is perfect for a healthy breakfast or energizing snack that’s both Instagram-worthy and delicious.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 (100 g) packet frozen acai puree, unsweetened
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) coconut water
  • 2 tablespoons (15 ml) plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup (142 g) frozen banana slices
  • 1/2 cup (85 g) frozen strawberries
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) frozen blueberries
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) frozen raspberries
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) honey or maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bowl – Place the serving bowl in the freezer. This will help keep your acai bowl thick and cold once served, preventing it from melting too quickly.
  2. Defrost the Acai – Allow the frozen acai packet to defrost slightly at room temperature for a few minutes. Then, break it into smaller pieces while still in the package. This makes it easier to blend and ensures smooth incorporation.
  3. Blend the Ingredients – Add coconut water, yogurt, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, acai, and honey to a blender cup. Blend on medium speed, using the tamper to push down the fruit, for about 30 seconds. This initial blending helps break down the frozen ingredients.
  4. Finish the Mixture – Increase speed to medium-high, and process until thick, spoonable, and smooth, about 15 seconds. Add more coconut water if needed for blending, but keep the mixture thick enough to eat with a spoon. Transfer the mixture to the chilled bowl from the freezer and add desired toppings. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, use a high-powered blender.
  • The texture should be thicker than a smoothie but still spoonable – like soft serve ice cream.
  • Popular toppings include fresh fruits, granola, nuts, seeds, coconut flakes, and nut butters.
  • Acai bowls are best consumed immediately as they melt quickly.
  • Acai berries are known for their antioxidant properties and are considered a superfood.
  • If you can’t find acai puree packets, you can substitute with acai powder mixed with frozen berries.
