Description

These easy Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas are a quick and healthy weeknight meal packed with flavor. Juicy strips of chicken breasts, colorful bell peppers, and onions are tossed in olive oil and fajita seasoning, then air-fried to perfection for a fast, restaurant-quality dinner.

For the Chicken and Vegetables

  • 2 large chicken breasts, cut into 1/4-inch thick strips
  • 1/2 large red bell pepper, cut into 1/4-inch thick strips
  • 1/2 large green bell pepper, cut into 1/4-inch thick strips
  • 1 large red onion, cut into 1/4-inch thick strips

For Seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 ounce packet fajita seasoning (or 2 tablespoons homemade fajita seasoning)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). If your air fryer doesn’t have a preheat function, set it to 400°F and let it run for 4-5 minutes empty to heat up.
  2. Prepare Ingredients: Place the chicken strips, red and green bell pepper strips, and onion strips into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Season and Toss: Drizzle the olive oil over the ingredients, then sprinkle with the fajita seasoning. Toss everything together until the chicken and vegetables are evenly coated.
  4. Air Fry: Transfer the seasoned mixture to the preheated air fryer basket. Spread everything out as evenly as possible. Cook at 400°F for 14 minutes, stirring or shaking well halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking. Check that the chicken reads at least 165°F internal temperature.
  5. Serve: Remove the chicken fajitas from the air fryer and serve immediately in warm tortillas with your favorite toppings, such as salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.
